The bottom one looks Ethiopian.

Re: I Found Some Coin's
It appears that you cleaned the coins.
Every coin expert I've ever spoken to says, "DONT CLEAN YOUR COINS EVER!" It lowers the value with serious collectors. It has something to do with the "original luster" of the coin. So, if you find any more, don't clean them. But, if you found them that way, nothing much you can do about it. Great find. :applause_ |

thanks for the info Fiat Mutiny :D |
Re: I Found Some Coin's
Good deal. It appears the person that placed them in the box took good care of them. Maybe the camera flash made them look shiny.
I personally prefer the look of a cleaned coin, but I don't clean them to make the dealer happy. |
Re: I Found Some Coin's
the two coppers in the middle are obviously French, liberte egalite et fraternite being the motto of the French Republic, La Republique Francaise
|
Re: I Found Some Coin's
The first two are Egyptian and Iranian respectively.

Looks familiar innit. The first one with the Lion of Judah is a pretty good give away. Doesn't look Egyptian at all. |

So what your saying is that the last pic is an Ethiopian Gold coin. But there's no freeking date on it. And who is this judah guy anyway, |
Re: I Found Some Coin's
Ethiopia is one of the, if not the oldest civilizations in Africa.
I don't know any more about the coin, it was the crowned lion emblem that I recognized that belonged to Ethiopia, I was just trying giving you a lead on where to start looking is all. Quote:
